Disturbing signs

Tunisia emerged fairly successfully from its Arab spring by transitioning to democracy, but its journalists continue to be exposed to many pressures. The sources of concern about the progress of media freedom in 2016 include counter-terrorist brigade interrogations of journalists, the prosecution of three journalists by military courts, and the failure to keep a promise to find out what happened to two Tunisian journalists, Sofiane Chourabi and Nadhir Ktari, who disappeared in Libya in 2015.
