02.10 - United Arab Emirates: website owner convicted of libel is released on bail Muhammad Rashed Shehhi, the owner of the Majan.net website, was released on bail on 30 September by a court in Ras al-Khaimah. Shehhi had been held since 19 August after being sentenced to a year in prison and a fine of 15,000 euros over an allegedly libellous comment posed anonymously by a visitor to his site. A total of four lawsuits have been brought against Shehhi in connection with his website.
