Six months later

Reporters Without Borders issued a release deploring the failure of Tunisia’s new authorities to renew the broadcast media landscape in the six months since President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali’s ouster on 14 January. No licences have been awarded, either to media that already operated clandestinely under President Ben Ali, such as Radio Kalima or Radio 6, or to new media that filed an application after the fall of the old regime.
