Neo-Nazis attack journalist's home

Reporters Without Borders called today on Swedish justice minister Thomas Bodstroem to crack down on neo-Nazi threats against the media after five extreme-rightists smashed the windows of journalist Bjoern Lockstroem's house in Motala (245 kms southwest of Stockholm) on 19 May. The attackers were arrested at a police roadblock soon afterwards, carrying clubs and teargas grenades. "Lockstroem is known for his probes into illegal behaviour by neo-Nazi groups and has been threatened several times," said the organisation's secretary-general, Robert Ménard in a letter to the minister. "We urge you to see that those responsible for such actions are punished and that threats and attacks against the media stop."
