Khaled Ya’qoub Oweis' accreditation withdrawn

The government withdrew the accreditation of the Reuters correspondent in Damascus, Khaled Ya’qoub Oweis, accusing him of filing “unprofessional and false” reports about recent events in Syria. A Jordanian national, Oweis had been based in Damascus since February 2006 and was Reuters’ first accredited correspondent in Syria.
