Freelance journalist Matthew VanDyke missing

The Committee to Protect Journalists reported that freelance journalist Matthew VanDyke was missing, believed captured by pro-Gaddafi forces while heading towards the eastern city of Brega. The Gaddafi government acknowledged on 10 August that it was holding VanDyke. The CPJ reported on 24 August that he had managed to escape from Abu Salim prison in Tripoli, where the authorities had been holding him.
