Four New York Times journalists detained

Four New York Times journalists were detained while reporting in the Libyan port city of Ajdabiya. (The newspaper broke the news of their abduction on its website the following day). They were Anthony Shadid, two-time winner of the Pulitzer prize for foreign reporting; Stephen Farrell, a reporter and videographer who was kidnapped in Afghanistan by the Taliban in 2009 before being freed by British Special Forces; and two photographers, Tyler Hicks and Lynsey Addario.
