Andrei Netto and Ghaith Abdul-Ahad arrested

2 March: Brazilian journalist Andrei Netto, the Paris-based correspondent of O Estado de São Paulo, and Iraqi journalist Ghaith Abdul-Ahad, a staff reporter with the London-based Guardian newspaper, were arrested by government forces (information received on 10 March). Andrej Netto was released on 11 March. The Guardian confirmed on 16 March that Ghaith Abdul-Ahad was freed and left the country.
