Abbas Al-Murshid arrested

Abbas Al-Murshid, a prominent freelance columnist and writer who also participates in several online forums, was arrested after being summoned for questioning at 6 pm. He had expressed views on many sensitive subjects in recent months. He was brought before a judge who told him he was charged with participating in illegal demonstrations, disseminating false information on online forums and inciting hatred against the government. His request to be freed on bail was denied.
