RWB appoints Virginie Dangles as assistant research director

Reporters Without Borders announces Virginie Dangles’ appointment as assistant research director, a newly-created post designed to strengthen and develop RWB’s research and advocacy. Aged 34, she will help research director Lucie Morillon to coordinate RWB’s activities and will be responsible for covering cross-cutting subjects. “We are delighted to benefit from Virginie Dangles’ journalistic expertise and international experience,” said Reporters Without Borders secretary-general Christophe Deloire. “She will help us to implement our concrete projects in other countries and our lobbying of international organizations and governments.” Prior to joining RWB, Dangles had been a website and multimedia editor with France 24 since 2010. Before that, she coordinated international exchanges for France 24, France 2, LCI, TV5 Monde and M6 from 2005 to 2010, and she edited Plaisirs d’Ile-de-France, a cultural supplement of the weekly magazine Le Point, from 2003 to 2005. She has also worked for Le Point, the magazine Le Monde des Religions and the news agency Textuel. She has a master’s in information and communication from the French Press Institute at the University of Paris-Assas and a BA in history from the University of Panthéon-Sorbonne.
